Washington Park Dump in 1961 catches fire as firemen put out the blaze in the black community of Roanoke, Virginia. Reporters claimed that residents nearby did not seem to mind the smell and toxic smoke from the dump, however the Rev. R.R. Wilkinson says, "Our people do mind."
